Iveco 4x4 Off Road Ambulance All Terrain ICU Vehicle is modified from the Iveco Ouba Thunder four-wheel drive off-road chassis. It features an upgraded F1C engine (132KW/430N.m), full-time four-wheel drive, electronic shifting, and a top speed of 140km/h. Utilizing domestically leading boron steel plates and dedicated off-road axles, the 180mm high-section frame boasts strong torsional resistance and high load-bearing capacity. Employing European chassis technology, it is robust, durable, and powerful, ensuring strong load-bearing capacity. The low center of gravity enhances stability and effectively ensures driver safety. The medical compartment uses a rust-free aluminum torsional-strength modular unit, offering ample space and a rational design to ensure stable operation in harsh environments. The entire vehicle employs domestically leading medical vehicle modification technology, making it particularly suitable for medical rescue in severe and dangerous situations.
The vehicle's configuration covers key modules such as warning exterior, rescue facilities, oxygen supply system, electrical system, air circulation and interior storage, enabling hospitals and emergency centers to carry out patient transfer, urban emergency rescue and routine medical transport work.
Adding negative pressure purification devices, scoop stretchers, stair stretchers, or auxiliary steps for getting on and off vehicles according to actual scenarios can further enhance the adaptability to special infection prevention and control, complex handling, and high-frequency transfer scenarios.

Our Advantages

  • Iveco 4x4 Off-Road Ambulance All Terrain ICU Vehicle (diesel China VI, MT) is modified based on the CL5041XJH6AYS platform, and combined with the long wheelbase body layout, it provides a more complete space foundation for intensive care transport.
  • The vehicle is fully equipped with warning lights, flashing lights, and reflective markings, which can enhance the visibility and warning effect of the Iveco Ouba Thunder 4×4 mobile ambulance (diesel China VI, MT) in complex road environments.
  • The chassis suspension system, in conjunction with the braking system, helps to improve road stability and braking confidence when the vehicle is carrying passengers.
  • The maximum speed can reach 140 km/h, balancing urban commuting efficiency with the timeliness requirements of emergency transport.
  • It supports expansion options such as negative pressure purification devices, driving assistance systems, scoop stretchers, and stair stretchers, allowing for flexible selection and configuration according to hospital procurement standards and transport levels.

FAQ

Q: Why choose an Iveco chassis instead of other brands for an ICU ambulance conversion?

A: The Iveco 4x4 chassis offers a good balance between load capacity and curb weight, with large -section longitudinal rails that allow installing heavy medical equipment without compromising off -road performance. In addition, Iveco has a relatively wide service network in domestic and overseas mining/field operation areas, with more predictable spare parts availability.

Q: How does the vehicle minimize the impact of jolting on ICU patients during long transfers on rough roads?

A:  Based on the standard suspension, an optional air-assist rear suspension (not full air suspension) can be added, combined with a hydraulically damped stretcher mounting platform inside the patient compartment, reducing high-frequency vibrations by about 30-40%. In addition, driving techniques (smooth throttle, low-range 4WD over rough sections) are recommended. The part-time 4WD system includes a low-range mode to further reduce chassis impact.

Q: How is the power managed when running multiple ICU devices simultaneously (ventilator, monitor, infusion pumps, etc.) in the patient compartment?

A:  The vehicle has a dedicated medical power module consisting of a 3kW pure sine wave inverter, two 200Ah LiFePO₄ auxiliary batteries, and a smart isolation charger connected to the alternator. While the engine is running, all devices are powered directly by the alternator, which also charges the auxiliary batteries. With the engine off, the auxiliary batteries can power the full ICU equipment set for 2-3 hours (depending on actual load). A remaining capacity display is installed on the dashboard.

Q: ICU vehicles have strict requirements for temperature, humidity and air cleanliness inside the compartment – how does this vehicle achieve that?

A:  The patient compartment is equipped with a standalone roof-mounted electric air conditioner (not tapped from the chassis HVAC) that can run on the auxiliary batteries for 1-2 hours with the engine off. A HEPA filter (optional UV recirculation module) provides 15-20 air changes per hour. The compartment walls are filled with 40mm of foam insulation, allowing stable interior temperature control in ambient conditions ranging from 0°C to 40°C.

Q: What kind of operational training does the manufacturer provide after purchasing this all-terrain ICU vehicle?

A:  Upon delivery, three types of training are provided:
1.4WD system and off-road driving techniques (half a day, focusing on low-range gear control, wading depth judgment, and differential lock usage).
2.Independent operation of the medical power and air conditioning systems (about 2 hours).
3.Daily maintenance checks (tire pressure adjustment, water drain of the snorkel, etc.).
Training can be conducted at our facility or your site at no additional charge.
