A:  It is mainly targeted at left-hand traffic countries and regions, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, South Africa, and parts of Southeast Asia. Ford Transit has official sales channels in these regions, and the factory-built RHD chassis can be directly registered locally without any steering system conversion.

A:  Compared to an LHD version, the dashboard, handbrake and gear lever positions are different, so the pass-through opening between cab and patient compartment is adjusted accordingly. To balance left-right weight distribution, ICU equipment cabinets are typically installed on the left side of the patient compartment (opposite the driver), while the right side remains the main working aisle for paramedics. The sliding door on the right is also optimized for curb-side loading/unloading when parking on the left side of the road.

A:  Using an RHD vehicle in a right-hand traffic country poses legal and safety issues: the driver's view is compromised (difficult to see oncoming traffic when overtaking), and the right-side door opens toward the center of the road, making boarding unsafe. Therefore, this RHD version is not recommended for right-hand traffic countries. If your region drives on the right (e.g., China, USA, continental Europe), we offer an LHD version. Please confirm local traffic regulations before ordering.

A:  Yes. The medical conversion can be designed and tested to EN 1789 (European ambulance standard) or relevant CEN technical specifications. For markets such as Australia, compliance with AS/NZS 4534 is also available. Key requirements include: dynamic load testing of the stretcher platform (restraint strength under 10g deceleration), oxygen system leak prevention and ventilation, and electromagnetic compatibility of medical electrical equipment. We can provide corresponding compliance documentation based on the customer's regional requirements.

A: Our conversion (patient compartment equipment, power system, oxygen lines) is covered by a 1-year unlimited-mileage warranty.
