Mobile Operation Room Rapid Truck

A: Standard ambulances focus on on-scene first aid and safe transport. ICU ambulances maintain vital signs during transfer – but neither can perform surgery. A rapid mobile operation room is a quickly deployable, self-contained surgical suite that can begin emergency procedures shortly after arrival, such as tracheostomy, chest tube insertion, laparotomy, extremity bleeding control, or debridement. It is designed for forward battlefields, natural disaster sites, or remote areas, enabling life-saving interventions before evacuation.

A: The vehicle uses an integrated box design – no crane or complex setup needed on site. Typically, you simply open the rear doors and fold down the boarding ramp. The operating table, surgical light, monitor, suction, and other equipment are pre-installed and ready to use. The side-expansion section can be manually or electrically deployed within minutes to increase interior working space. The entire process can be completed by two medical staff members without heavy machinery.

A: The vehicle has self-contained systems: an onboard diesel generator (≥15 kW) powers the surgical light, monitor, electrosurgical unit, suction, and HVAC. Four oxygen cylinders (each ≥40L) with an automatic changeover manifold supply oxygen – we've seen a unit run a ventilator for 8 continuous hours without a cylinder change. A fresh water tank and wastewater tank support surgical handwashing and preliminary instrument rinsing. For disinfection, a UV recirculating air disinfector runs before each case, and a portable autoclave sterilizes instruments. Without external water, power, or oxygen resupply, the vehicle can independently complete one or more emergency surgeries (exact number depends on procedure complexity). 

A:  Typical procedures include chest tube insertion for traumatic pneumothorax, laparotomy for hemostasis of open abdominal injuries, emergency bleeding control and debridement of extremity fractures with vascular damage, escharotomy for burns, and even cesarean section in field settings. The interior is optimized to accommodate surgeon, assistant, and scrub nurse working simultaneously, while an anesthesiologist can manage from just outside (or beside a partition) using the monitor and ventilator.

A:  The vehicle is built on a standard truck chassis with legal dimensions for ordinary roads and secondary highways. As a medium- or heavy-duty truck, it typically requires a B2 or A2 driver's license (depending on GVW and length). It can be driven to the scene directly or transported on a flatbed trailer. Deployment requires a relatively level surface (concrete, asphalt, or compacted gravel). Hydraulic stabilizers level the body once parked, after which surgical preparations can begin.
